Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will be meeting President Donald Trump in Washington on Tuesday, his eighth such visit since Trump returned to office.
The two leaders last met in February, shortly before the joint US-Israeli strikes on Iran.
However, the Middle Eastern nation did not join the recent two-week US strikes on Iran.
Netanyahu’s visit comes as he faces a tough domestic political climate ahead of the October 27 election alongside declining American support for Israel. NYC Mayor Zohran Mamdani called him a “war criminal” last week. The Israeli leader and Trump had friction during a phone call in June.
During his trip, Netanyahu is also expected to attend the funeral service for the late Senator Lindsey Graham.
