President Donald Trump’s comments came after Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky said Trump lives in a ‘disinformation space’ created by the Kremlin

A battle of words erupted between President Donald Trump and Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky yesterday after US and Russian diplomats met in Saudi Arabia to discuss ending the war in Ukraine.

Kyiv was not included in the talks.

The verbal battle started when Trump said Ukraine instigated the war with Russia. Zelensky responded to the president’s comments and said Trump lives in a “disinformation space” created by the Kremlin.

Trump countered Zelensky’s comments and called the Ukrainian leader a “Dictator without Elections” on social media.

In just four weeks of taking office, President Trump has flipped the script in the US’s support to Ukraine, making America a less predictable ally and stepping back from long-standing global commitments.
