The Israeli Defense Force (IDF) confirmed Monday that four Israelis taken hostage by Hamas on October 7 have been killed. Additionally, a paramedic named Dolev Yehud was also confirmed dead.

The IDF believes the four hostages died several months ago, likely during an operation against Hamas in the Khan Younis area.

Around 120 hostages remain in Hamas captivity, of which 43 have been declared deceased, per government tally.

The deaths come as a three-phased cease-fire proposal, supported by President Joe Biden, was challenged by some ministers in Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s government who are opposed to any deal with Hamas.
