The Trump administration lifted its pause on intelligence sharing and military aid to Ukraine after Kyiv agreed to an immediate 30-day ceasefire following high-level talks in Saudi Arabia yesterday.
The US-proposed deal, pending Russia’s approval, aims to open negotiations to end the war.
President Donald Trump emphasized the need to secure Russian President Vladimir Putin’s support, stating, “We want to get that war over with.”
Ukraine initially proposed a partial truce but later accepted a comprehensive US plan. Kyiv seeks security guarantees and prisoner releases in future talks.
Just before the talks, Ukraine launched a major drone attack on Russia, killing three and injuring 18.
Now, President Donald Trump’s special envoy, Steve Witkoff, is expected to travel to Russia to discuss the plan.
