The Biden administration seized a $13 million Dassault Falcon 900EX aircraft linked to Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro in the Dominican Republic on Monday. The plane, flown to Florida, is part of ongoing forfeiture proceedings, announced the Justice Department.

The aircraft was reportedly used by Maduro and his allies to travel to Iran, Russia and Cuba and was confiscated for allegedly violating US sanctions against Venezuela, announced the Department of Justice (DOJ).

The DOJ charged the Venezuelan strongman and 14 of his current and former officials with narco-terrorism and drug trafficking in 2020. It has even offered a $15 million reward for information leading to Maduro’s arrest.

The action against Maduro’s regime follows the accusations of election fraud by the Venezuelan opposition. Tally sheets produced by opposition candidate Edmundo Gonzalez showed he received more votes.
