Capturing the blend of music and fashion in hip-hop culture, the American Museum of Natural History (AMNH) is showcasing 66 iconic pieces of jewelry and other pieces from over five dynamic decades of the industry.
The glitzy exhibit, “Ice Cold: An Exhibition of Hip-Hop Jewelry,” features several items from Public Enemy’s bold leather medallion to modern marvels worn by stars like A$AP Ferg, Drake, Nicki Minaj, and Tyler, the Creator, among others.
Notable highlights include A$AP Ferg’s diamond tribute to the late A$AP Yams and Jay-Z’s emblematic Roc-A-Fella pendant.
Curated by Vikki Tobak, the exhibit delves into more than just opulence and highlights narratives of aspiration and remembrance.
