The Biden Administration has requested $26 billion for NASA in its fiscal 2023 budget—higher than what the space agency received for the current fiscal year.
It is the largest request for science in the space agency's history and a $2.7 billion increase over the 2021 budget.
If passed as is, a third of the funding is for NASA’s Artemis program—a mission to send humans to the moon.
NASA also aims to send people to Mars by 2040.
