Parents may start vaccinating their children aged below five from June 21, says White House COVID-19 response coordinator, Dr Ashish Jha in a briefing.
The first 10 million doses will be available as soon as the FDA and CDC permit the vaccines of Pfizer and Moderna for the 18 million youngest children in the country.
The FDA’s advisory committee will have a meeting on June 14 and 15, during which they will review the data submitted by Pfizer and Moderna. Once it is done, CDC Director Dr Rochelle Walensky will make her recommendations, according to Jha.
