Following the decision by a federal judge to strike down the mask mandate, several US transport companies decided to bring down their masks effective immediately.

We have choice
Major airlines like Alaska Airlines, JetBlue, American Airlines, and United Airlines have dropped the mask mandate for their employees and passengers.

Amtrak Corporation has announced that masks are not mandatory in their trains and train stations.

The complications
Though the ruling stated masks are not mandatory, international flights require their passengers to wear a mask. Also, the Philadelphia International Airport still follows the mask mandate rule inside their terminals.

Transit systems in some cities have not yet dropped the mask mandate and suggest its travelers wear a mask.

Biden Administration may appeal
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) stands by its decision and still encourages people to wear masks on public transportation.

The Biden Administration is ready to appeal the mask mandate ruling—one of the vital government efforts to reduce the spread of COVID-19 if the CDC confirms it is still mandatory.
