Florida Governor Ron DeSantis on Tuesday called for a special session asking lawmakers to consider revoking Disney World’s special district.
The session will continue till this Friday, and if the congressional map is implemented, Disney will no longer be able to own the Reedy Creek District—an administrative zone encompassing 25,000 acres that allow the company to operate as a municipal government.
The session can be seen as DeSantis’ recent attack on Disney’s opposition to a law that bans discussion of gender identity and sexual orientation in classrooms.
