Disney Suspends Theatrical Releases in Russia

In a statement released on Monday, the Walt Disney Co. said that it has ceased its upcoming theatrical releases in Russia in light of the Russia-Ukraine crisis. A Walt Disney spokesperson stated that the company intended to pause the release of theatrical films in Russia following the attack on Ukraine and the tragic humanitarian crisis. Eagerly anticipated movies like Turning Red and Warner Bros. ‘The Batman’ has now been shelved or set aside until the crisis situation improves. Disney now joins a host of other firms like Netflix, Meta, Shell, Twitter, and YouTube who have announced that they will be limiting their access in Russia.
