Elon Musk is “serious” about creating a new social media platform

Elon Musk is giving “serious thought” to creating a social media platform.

The Tesla CEO—the service's most prolific user—criticized Twitter on Friday for “failing to adhere to free speech principle.” He had asked other users about what can be done via another tweet.

Musk put out a poll asking users whether Twitter allows free speech, to which more than 70% voted “no”.

Under a 2018 agreement with the Securities and Exchange Commission, Musk needs pre-approval from other Tesla executives before posting tweets about the company.
