President Joe Biden’s repeated statement on owners’ inability to repair their own goods led Representative Bobby Rush, a Democrat, to introduce the ‘Right to Repair’ bill. The Bill will grant access to tools, maintenance equipment, access to onboard diagnostic systems, and wireless transmission of repair and diagnostic data to owners and independent repair industries.
The Right to Repair bill will end manufacturers and licensed dealers' monopoly, encouraging healthy competition.
Automakers have sued the bill to prevent independent shops from repairing sophisticated models.
