Moscow strikes Kyiv during UN General Secretary's visit
Russia struck two missiles at Kyiv on Thursday during the UN Secretary-General António Guterres’ visit to Ukraine. Ten people were reported injured during the attack.

The United Nations was "shocked" by Russia’s attack as it occurred very close to where Guterres was in the capital city of Kyiv. Saviano Abreu, a spokesperson for the UN’s humanitarian office addressed the attack and said, “It is a war zone but it is shocking that it happened close to us.”

Secretary-General Guterres called the Ukraine war “evil” following his visit from the war-torn regions of Kyiv.

The Battle of Donbas
As Russia turned its attention back to the ‘Battle of Donbas,’ the British Defense Ministry said it is now the Kremlin’s main strategic focus in Ukraine.

The Russian troops haven’t secured any major city since the beginning of the invasion.

After withdrawing its forces from Kyiv last month, Russia launched a full-blown attack on the Donbas region.

Victory in the ‘Battle of Donbas’ is significant for Moscow as securing the Donetsk and Luhansk regions would give them an upper hand in the war.

Millions displaced
According to UNHCR, over 5,372,854 people have fled Ukraine since the beginning of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
