Thursday’s massive winter storm left thousands of households across six states without power and three major airports canceled more than 5000 flights. According to the National Weather Services forecast, a 2-inch snowfall per hour will cover the entire expanse between New England and Tennessee, whereas Mississippi, and Alabama will experience thunderstorms.
The effects are expected to continue till Saturday, and a tornado watch has been extended across the central band. NWS is analyzing further storm effects and measures to contain the situation.
