Former President Donald Trump’s sentencing in his New York hush money case has been postponed to September 18. His lawyers are arguing the conviction should be overturned due to a recent Supreme Court ruling that states presidents have immunity for official acts.

But Trump was a candidate when he falsified business records related to payments made to adult film actress Stormy Daniels. His legal team has until July 10 to file arguments, with prosecutors responding by July 24.

Judge Juan Merchan will rule on these motions by September 6. Trump was originally set to be sentenced on July 11.
