Speaking after the dismissal, NYC Mayor Eric Adams maintained his innocence and called the case a “baseless” political attack|@NYCMayor|X
The federal corruption case against NYC Mayor Eric Adams has been dismissed with prejudice, meaning he cannot be re-tried on the same charges.
Judge Dale Ho granted the DOJ’s controversial request to drop the case, citing concerns that it interfered with Adams’ 2025 re-election campaign and cooperation with the Trump administration’s immigration policies.
The DOJ’s request led to seven federal prosecutors in the case resigning in protest in February.
Mayor Adams was indicted last September on five counts of bribery, conspiracy, and campaign finance violations, including for allegedly accepting $100,000 in gifts from wealthy Turkish nationals.
Speaking after the dismissal, Adams maintained his innocence, called the case a “baseless” political attack and apologized to New Yorkers for the ordeal.
