The National Football League (NFL) will stencil “Choose Love” in the end zone at New Orleans’s Caesars Superdome for Super Bowl LIX between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles, according to league officials.

The phrase replaces “End Racism,” which had been featured since 2021. The other end zone will read, “It Takes All of Us.” The league aims to inspire unity after recent tragedies, including the New Year’s truck attack in New Orleans, wildfires in California, and multiple plane crashes, NFL spokesperson Brian McCarthy said.

The league introduced these messages in 2020 as part of its Inspire Change initiative.

Last month, the Chiefs used “Choose Love” in their AFC Championship win, while the Eagles had “End Racism” in their NFC Championship game.

According to NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, the changes are not in conflict with the league’s commitment to DEI.
