Team USA wins Olympic gold in women’s gymnastics finals

Simone Biles and Suni Lee led the US women’s gymnastics team to their first gold in team all-around since 2016 at the Paris Olympics on Tuesday.

The team dominated Italy and Brazil to secure a commanding victory with a score of 171.296 points.

The victory has likely made Biles the most decorated American gymnast of all time. She won her eighth Olympic medal, surpassing Shannon Miller.

Italy won silver and Brazil bronze, earning their first Olympic medals in women’s gymnastics in a century.

The final at Bercy Arena featured standout performances from Biles, Jordan Chiles, Jade Carey and Sunisa Lee (Hezley Rivera did not compete). At an average age of 22.5, this squad is the oldest US gymnastics team since 1952.
