ADP is Apple’s end-to-end encrypted iCloud storage feature

Apple will no longer offer Advanced Data Protection (ADP) in the United Kingdom to new users, and current UK users will eventually need to disable this security feature, the tech giant said in a statement.

ADP is Apple’s end-to-end encrypted iCloud storage feature.

The move comes after the Washington Post reported earlier this month that the UK had asked Apple to create a “back door” to enable the government to see the stored data uploaded by any Apple users around the globe, which currently not even the tech company can access.
