Meta announced three new board members on Monday: UFC CEO Dana White, Exor CEO John Elkann and tech investor Charlie Songhurst. Mark Zuckerberg emphasized their expertise in AI, wearables and human connection as critical assets for the company’s future.
The additions expand Meta’s board to 13 members, with Zuckerberg retaining majority control.
UFC head White is a close ally of President-elect Donald Trump and spoke at the Republican National Convention and at Trump’s election night rally.
Exor founder Elkann is also the executive chair of Ferrari and Stellantis, while Songhurst was the former corporate strategy head at Microsoft and advised Meta on AI.
The move reflects the tech giant’s focus on leveraging diverse industry perspectives as it targets growth in AI and immersive technologies.
