Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg unveiled a lineup of new hardware and software with AI capabilities, including glasses, a wristband, and VR and AR headsets, at Meta Connect 2025 yesterday.

He introduced the Meta Ray-Ban Display, which features a tiny built-in display and can be controlled using a neural wristband that responds to subtle hand movements. The AI glasses start at $799 and launch on September 30.

Another Ray-Ban Meta Gen 2 glasses, starting at $379, was also introduced.

Both glasses feature a new “conversation focus” audio function that will be rolled out across models.

For athletes, Meta introduced the Oakley Meta Vanguard, priced at $499 and shipping October 21. The wraparound sports glasses integrate with Garmin and Strava apps, supporting high-quality video capture and 9-hour battery life.

In VR, Meta launched Hyperscape, which enables Quest 3 and 3S headsets to scan real-world spaces and transform them into digital environments. A new Horizon TV hub for Quest was also teased. It will house streaming apps including YouTube, Twitch, Disney+, ESPN, Hulu, and Prime Video.

While the announcements fit Zuckerberg’s long-term vision of blending digital and physical worlds through wearables, analysts note Meta might find it challenging to convince mainstream consumers of the benefits of these gadgets.
