The Yuntai Falls in China’s Henan province is considered the country’s ‘tallest uninterrupted waterfall’

China’s tallest waterfall, the Yuntai Falls, was recently found to have a concealed network of pipes that feed water to it. A hiker posted the disguise on social media, prompting the Yuntai Mountain scenic resort authorities to accept they made a “small enhancement” to not disappoint tourists.

Park officials said the waterfall needs additional water supply during the dry season to maintain its appearance, assuring that this practice helps the falls look their best year-round.

The Yunan waterfall is approximately 312 meters high (twice the height of the Washington Monument) and attracts nearly 7 million domestic and international tourists annually, according to its park website. It is also a UNESCO Global Geopark.

The revelation elicited mixed reactions on Chinese social media, with some people indifferent to the artificial enhancement and others appreciating the park’s honesty.
