
Yum Brands, which owns Taco Bell, KFC, and Pizza Hut, is collaborating with Nvidia to roll out AI-powered order-taking in its restaurants. It is the chipmaker’s first partnership in the food industry.
The venture would see Nvidia-powered computers at the franchises and for use in performance analytics.
As AI tech grows, its use has expanded to the fast-food sector, and several chains have teamed up with companies to provide them.
McDonald’s partnered with Google Cloud and IBM, but it ended an AI voice project with the latter in June.
Wendy’s opted to use Palantir’s technology in its supply chain.
Yum has already piloted Nvidia technology at select Taco Bell and Pizza Hut locations, with plans to expand to 500+ restaurants by Q2.
Meanwhile, Nvidia’s stock is up 35% over the past year as AI continues to drive investor enthusiasm. It is valued at around $2.9 trillion, while Yum is at $43.8 billion.
