Eight people were injured in Boulder, Colorado, yesterday when a man threw incendiary devices at an event supporting Israeli hostages held by Hamas.

The police arrested the suspect, Mohamed Sabry Soliman, but have not confirmed a motive. The 45-year-old reportedly yelled “Free Palestine” before throwing a flamethrower-like weapon at the crowd of about 20 people.

FBI Director Kash Patel called it a “targeted terrorist attack,” while state officials urge caution as the investigation continues.

Colorado Governor Jared Polis condemned the violence, and Attorney General Phil Weiser called it a possible hate crime.

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer labeled it an act of antisemitism.

The attack targeted the weekly Run for Their Lives gathering, held by Jewish community members since 2023, in response to the October 7 Hamas attack.
