Ukraine and Russia agreed to halt Black Sea hostilities and discuss stopping strikes on energy facilities, the White House announced Tuesday.

However, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said it was “too early” to confirm success. Russia added conditions, demanding Western nations lift restrictions on its agricultural exports.

The US pledged to help Russia regain market access, but Zelensky criticized the move as weakening sanctions.

The deal excludes a full cease-fire, and past agreements have quickly unraveled. Both nations accuse each other of continued attacks, raising doubts about the truce’s effectiveness.
