Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and President Donald Trump
Top aide to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky will meet with top US officials in Saudi Arabia today to talk about a peace deal to end the war, marking the first time the US and Ukraine will meet since the fiery exchange between Zelensky and President Donald Trump in the Oval Office.
The meeting comes after the US reduced military aid and intelligence support to Ukraine, shifting its stance on foreign policy that shocked Ukraine and European allies.
Zelensky met Saudi’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman on Monday but will not be at the talks.
Meanwhile, Trump’s Middle East envoy, Steve Witkoff, is set to meet Russian President Vladimir Putin, fueling speculation about a potential settlement.
