Netflix announces subscriber loss|Theglobalpanorama|CC BY-SA 2.0
In the last three months, Netflix has lost more than 900,000 subscribers marking the first time the streaming platform lost users for two quarters in a row.
In Q1 of this year, the OTT platform had lost 200,000 subscribers.
As streaming services continue to crop up, subscribers are spoilt for choice and use more than four streaming services per household. It could be the reason why users are leaving Netflix. The platform has taken several steps to increase its subscriber base:
-
Launching an ad-supported tier
-
crackdown on password sharing
-
tying up with popular franchises
Netflix predicts it will see an increase in the number of accounts as early as this quarter.
