Henry Cavill broke the news Wednesday that he will “not be returning as Superman,” as he has been dropped from playing the role after the DC Studio shake-up.

Just in October, the actor announced his return to the role.

The red cape is not the only thing Cavill is hanging up, the British actor is also exiting his role in Netflix’s The Witcher, passing the mantle to Liam Hemsworth as the White Wolf.

What’s next for Cavill?
Speculations are aplenty and there are talks that the Last Son of Krypton may star and executive produce a series adaptation of Warhammer 40,000—a sci-fi miniature wargame by Games Workshop.

Amazon is close to acquiring the game’s rights. In April, Cavill posted a miniature of a ‘Warhammer’ character on his social media.

According to a report by Giant Freakin Robot, the actor has been roped in by James Cameron to play a role in ‘Avatar 4.’
