FBI Director Kash Patel said police have arrested five suspects in Dearborn and Inkster, Michigan, on Friday for allegedly plotting a terrorist attack over Halloween weekend.
Law enforcement officials said the alleged attack plan had a connection to ISIS.
The individuals are all naturalized US citizens from a Middle Eastern country. They had access to firearms and weapons training, and had reportedly discussed carrying out an attack they referred to as “pumpkin day.”
One of the arrested individuals’ neighbors described them as “friendly” and “good.”
Although no specific targets were identified, the FBI decided to act pre-emptively. Investigation remains ongoing.
