Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas defended why he did not report the luxury family trips.
He said he was advised early in his tenure that “personal hospitality from close personal friends, who did not have business before the court, was not reportable.”
For the past 20 years, the Thomases had been taking lavish trips that were paid for by one of his “dearest friends” and billionaire GOP megadonor, Harlan Crow, a ProPublica report revealed recently.
