A US watchdog, Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics, on Tuesday called on the conservative Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas to resign.

It cited his failure to declare lavish gifts and financial support from a Republican mega-donor, Harlan Crow.

Justice Thomas has said he did not declare gifts, including luxury travel and resort stays because he was advised not to do so.

Meanwhile, the Senate Judiciary Committee on Monday asked Crow to provide a list of the gifts he gave to Thomas and any other justices.
