President Donald Trump delivered his first address to Congress on Tuesday since reclaiming the White House and declared, “America is back.”

He said his team has accomplished more in the past 43 days than the previous administrations.

He spoke of his achievements, including banning trans athletes from women’s sports, ending federal DEI efforts, and creating the Elon Musk-led Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE)—which has fired thousands of federal workers and slashed government programs.

He claimed DOGE has uncovered billions in fraud.

On immigration, he blamed former president Joe Biden for border issues and honored families of victims killed by undocumented immigrants. He urged Congress to fund border security and support a large-scale deportation effort.

During the address, Trump announced that additional tariffs on agricultural imports are set to start on April 2, the day reciprocal tariffs also kick in.

Tariffs on China, Canada and Mexico began before his speech, triggering retaliatory measures. He insisted tariffs would strengthen the economy despite concerns over rising costs.

Meanwhile, Democrats criticized Trump’s economic policies and warned of economic risks.
