Netflix added 19 million new subscribers in Q4

Netflix reported it added the largest number of subscribers ever in the last quarter of 2024. The streamer added 19 million new users, bringing its total to 302 million globally.

The subscriber growth helped the streamer exceed $10 billion in revenue in Q4, above analysts’ expectations.

The success behind Netflix’s Q4 results can be attributed to its investments in high-profile live sports events and shows. The Mike Tyson-Jake Paul boxing match in November attracted 108 million viewers, which Netflix says was the most-streamed sporting event ever.

After the streaming giant’s report, it announced price hikes for its US and Canada subscribers. The standard plan without ads will now cost $17.99, up from $15.49, while the premium plan with 4K quality rises by $2 to $24.99. The ad-supported plan increases by $1 to $7.99.
