The Senate passed a budget framework in a 52-48 vote in an all-night session and adopted a $340 billion framework, which will boost funding for mass deportation and immigration enforcement.

The blueprint also covers energy production and additional military spending that President Donald Trump suggested.

But the mostly party-line vote needs to pass the GOP-controlled House that plans its own single budget resolution that the president calls “one big, beautiful bill.” In addition to money for the border, defense and energy, it also includes a $4.5 trillion tax cut and trillions of dollars in debt limit hike.
